The complete range of UFI Filters cabin air filters – A guide

UFI Filters, a leader in filtration and thermal management, boasts a complete range of cabin air filters, whose primary function is to guard against dust, soot, bacteria, pollen and other pollutants that may enter a vehicle. In extreme circumstances, these pollutants may turn the entire cabin into a breeding ground for pathogens. This is why choosing a high-quality cabin air filter – and replacing it every 15,000 km – is essential.

With its experience in the R&D sector to develop new materials, UFI Filters has created several FormulaUFI.Stratiflex filtering media, capable of ensuring high filtering efficiency, humidity resistance and microbiological neutralisation. Because of that, the UFI Group can offer three kinds of cabin air filter in its aftermarket catalogue: from the traditional anti-pollen filter, to the activated carbon filter that can block even foul smells, to the UFI Filters Argentium® antibacterial filter.

A constantly evolving range of cabin air filters.

What’s more, UFI Filters’ catalogue offers over 700 items for cabin air filters, 607 for cars and commercial vehicles and 111 for on-road and off-road heavy vehicles, covering a total of more than 19,000 applications.

363 are anti-pollen filters produced with a synthetic non-woven fabric that can hold back over 90% of particles with a diameter greater than 2.5 μm, such as fine dust PM10, dirt and pollens. UFI anti-pollen filters are identifiable in the catalogue by the initial code 53.

196 are filters made of a filtering non-woven fabric combined with active carbon, which also absorb gases and odours, blocking industrial and agricultural pollutants – such as the hazardous NOx, SO2, NH3 and VOC – further protecting the vehicle’s internal environment. UFI carbon filters are identifiable in the catalogue by the initial code 54.

159 are UFI Argentium® filters with antibacterial properties. The revolutionary filtering media comprises three layers: structural, absorbent and antimicrobial, which incorporates silver particles. With the Biomaster silver biocidal product, certified according to ISO 22196:2011, it inhibits the bacterial growth up to 99%. UFI Argentium® filters are identifiable in the catalogue by the initial code 34.

Why is it important to change the cabin air filter?

The concentration of dust in the atmosphere and the presence of various harmful particles such as PM10 and PM2.5 varies with weather conditions and geographic location. Levels inside the vehicle can be as high as six times the outdoor level due to the tunnel effect created by the ventilation circuit. The direct consequences of a poor air quality while driving include: allergies, throat ache, sneezing, lack of attention when driving, up to a reduced visibility caused by condensation on the windshield and on the windows.

This is why, once autumn and winter have left their mark on the passenger compartment air filter, with moisture, dust, particulates and debris, it’s important to have it replaced in time for spring. The UFI FILTERS Group recommends to replace the cabin air filter regularly, every 15,000 km, and even more frequently in particularly dusty environments, or at least every 6-12 months. An operation that is crucial for guaranteeing health and comfort inside the vehicle.
