UFI Filters thermal management for Maserati electric cars

An important step forwards for UFI Filters in the development of technologies for electric mobility, as the brand reaffirms its partnership with Maserati. UFI Filters, which is already the supplier of UFI MULTITUBE engine air filter for the new MC20 petrol car unveiled in September, has been awarded the contract for production of the dual heat exchanger on the front and rear electric axle, for the transmissions of the new electric cars produced by the iconic trident brand: the MC20, the Gran Turismo and the Gran Cabrio. Maserati Folgore is the legendary name that will unite the full electric range set to be launched in 2021 by the all-Italian brand, famous worldwide for its supersport and luxury cars.
For electric cars, the thermal management of the electric propulsion system (battery pack) – as well as the transmission oil – is crucial. UFI Filters has been providing technologically advanced solutions since 2010, produced using the latest generation systems. UFI oil heat exchangers for Maserati’s double gear box – on the rear and on the front – are made from aluminium and are water-cooled; they are produced using modern vacuum brazing technologies that ensure a more robust, efficient product which in turn guarantees a longer life for the transmission system, as well as reducing the energy consumed by the vehicle.
UFI Filters thermal management systems have already been selected for use in the electric mobility solutions produced by a range of other manufacturers in addition to Maserati, including Audi and Porsche for their Premium Platform Electric (PPE) and for heavy-duty vehicle manufacturers such as Mercedes Benz Trucks.
