UFI Filters reinforces position in the Asian with Renault-Nissan Group

– Diesel fuel filter with exclusive DFM technology for the all-new Nissan Qashqai 1.6 dCi
– Growing share of OE sector for Asian cars and compact SUVs
– Significant sales volume potential for the Aftermarket sector due to constantly increasing car park

Nogarole Rocca, 26 October 2017 – UFI Filters, the global leader in diesel filtration technologies, has increased its presence in the OE sector for Asian cars – which now account for around 25% of the vehicles on the road in Europe – through the extension of the supply contract with Renault-Nissan Group. Under this contract UFI Filters will supply diesel fuel filters for the new Nissan Qashqaithe most popular compact SUV in recent years and the eighth most-frequently registered cars in Europe (Automotive News Europe January 2017).

With an OE presence of 20% in the supply of fuel filters for cars produced by the Franco-Japanese Group, UFI Filters technologies are set to cover more than 650,000 vehicles with products supplied for Renault-Nissan. These are used not only on the Qashqai but also on the Nissan Juke, Pulsar, X-Trail and Renault Kadjar, further strengthening the brand’s partnership with the fourth-biggest car manufacturer in the world.

The numbers for the aftermarket sector are also significant, according to the data provided by the international automotive research organisation GiPA. About 75% of motorists with Asian segment cars aged more than four years are turning to independent workshops for servicing.

UFI Filters diesel engine technology is predominantly supplied for 1.6 litre engines – in particular for the all-new version of the Nissan Qashqai 1.6 dCi but also for the Nissan X-Trail 1.6 dCi and the Renault Kadjar 1.6dCi as well as for the Renault Kadjar 1.5 dCi- courtesy of its exclusive DFM (Deep Filtration Media) which guarantees superb filtration efficiency, trapping more than 94.5% of particles 4 μm or above. Similarly, thanks once again to the DFM, the UFI Filters products for the Nissan Juke 1.5 dCi and Pulsar 1.5 dCi models offer more than 95% protection for particles up to 5 μm, ensuring compliance with Euro 6 requirements in both cases.

The efficacy of the diesel filtration solutions provided to the Renault-Nissan Group is dependent on the DFM media, the “recipe” developed in the UFI Filters Innovation Centres which contains polyamide in the form of fibres, the size and orientation of which vary according to the application for which the filter is to be used. This guarantees a custom-made product, tailored to the specific requirements of the manufacturer.

Luca Betti, Director of the UFI Group Aftermarket Business Unit, said: “This supply contract with Renault-Nissan is important to UFI Filters in a host of ways. It serves as further confirmation of the strength of our exclusive DFM fuel filtration solution, bearing witness to the ever-increasing presence of UFI Filters in the Asian car market which is constantly growing across Europe. I would also like to highlight that the UFI fuel filters supplied to Nissan represent an opportunity for the replacement parts market and offer high added value for all our customers, ensuring independent workshops have the products they need to meet the requirements of the vehicles on the road, generating ever more business for them.”

Fuel filters for Renault-Nissan applications are available in the Aftermarket Catalogue under UFI product code 24.095.01 and SOFIMA product code S 1015 NR for the 1.6 dCi Nissan Qashqai, Nissan X-Trail, Renault Kadjar engines, and for the Renault Kadjar 1.5 dCi engine.

The UFI 24.080.00 / SOFIMA S 4080 NR product codes apply to the 1.5 dCi Nissan Juke and Pulsar engines.
