UFI Filters is back on track with Ryan Smith, in the British Truck Racing Championship

Following the last year success UFI Filters is back on track for the new season of the British Truck Racing Championship (BTRC), together with the British driver Ryan Smith, Class A champion for 6 consecutive times.

The Group, leader in the filtration and production of heat exchangers for combustion, hybrid and electric vehicles, has been present in the United Kingdom for five years with a dedicated sales team and warehouse and has further extended its presence last year, launching the Aftermarket Heavy Duty range in the UK and Ireland.

The partnership between UFI Filters and Ryan Smith is consolidated in the British Truck Racing Championship, one of the biggest categories in the UK, with machines weighing in at more than five tonnes and producing in excess of 1000bhp.

The championship has for a long time been split into two classes. Division 1 is home to the most advanced machines that have bespoke braking and suspension systems, whilst Division 2 is likened towards more production-based machines.

For the 2022 season UFI Filters will be alongside Ryan Smith, who will be racing with the team Worldwide Truck Racing.

Class A BTRC Champion for 6 seasons in a row, from 2016 to 2021, this year Ryan Smith is racing with a new powerful truck, his UFI branded Daimler Freightliner Truck, a giant of 5,300 kg, 1,400 HP, 6,800 Nm torque and a ZF 16 S 221 mechanical gearbox, which can run till 160 km/h.

A season that promises to be exciting and challenging, a great occasion of visibility for the UFI brand in the racing of heavy duty vehicles.

Ryan Smith, comments: “I’m glad to continue the collaboration and proud of the UFI Filters’ trust. We have done a lot of hard team work to get the best set up for our Daimler Freightliner and for it to be highly competitive. This year the focus of the visibility off track is as important as on track, with our partners such as UFI Filters, that has made it possible to be present in this BTRC’s season”.

Karl Ridings, UK & Ireland Sales Director & General Manager UK & Ireland – Aftermarket says: “We are really pleased to continue our collaboration with Ryan. A real champion, who will help strengthening the brands visibility in the truck world in the UK and Ireland, where we have recently launched our Heavy Duty Aftermarket range. A further boost to our presence in the UK, where we can already count on a strengthened sales team and our local warehouse that can provide next day delivery service to our customers across the country”.
