UFI Filters and SOFIMA Filter Italian Aftermarket Convention 2018 “Welcome to Tomorrow”

  • The UFI Filters Group confirms its leading position in filtration on the Italian market

Three days dedicated to innovation and updates on the world of UFI Filters and market trends, the UFI Filters and SOFIMA Filter Italian Aftermarket Convention was held from 1st to 3rd February 2018 and saw the involvement of distributors and buying groups.

“Welcome to tomorrow” was the message of the event, which is linked directly to the communication campaign already launched by UFI. The first day was dedicated entirely to uncovering the latest and future innovations in filtration with a visit to the Research and Development laboratory at the UFI Filters headquarters in Nogarole Rocca, in the province of Verona (Italy), and to the High Tech Division, where a team of specialised technicians follows the design and production of new products for special applications in the racing and aerospace sector. 8 out of 10 Formula 1 teams have chosen the technology of UFI products, including Ferrari and Mercedes. UFI’s know-how doesn’t stop at competitive racing as a supplier for the Ducati and Aprilia MotoGP teams, but has contributed to the development of filters for the European ExoMars space probe in its capacity as filtration specialist.

There was a particular focus on the presentation of the latest developments, application of cutting edge filtration media and engine technology trends in the automotive sector, also taking into consideration counterfeiting and the strategies implemented by Group and market to address the problem.

The second part of the Convention instead took place in the magnificent setting of the mountains of South Tyrol, at the Hotel Terme Merano, and was an opportunity to meet up, discuss and exchange ideas and opinions, an occasion for a close-up look at the reality of the UFI Filters Aftermarket Division, in order to appreciate the dynamics and situation not only of the Aftermarket sector, but also trends for the coming years in the Automotive sector in general.

The Group’s figures were presented, confirming its leading position in Italian filtration, with growth outperforming the market. The Aftermarket Marketing team demonstrated the tools made available to distributors to support this growth, such as the constantly expanding range and presence in original equipment, leaflets, brochures and events designed to support the sales forces of its clients.

Luca Betti, Director of the Aftermarket Business Unit for the UFI Group, states: “The Convention has become an established occasion for meeting with our clients to take stock of the situation and exchange ideas and suggestions. UFI Filters has confirmed its leading position in Italian filtration, with greater growth in turnover than the market, supported through the tools designed by our marketing team. The decisive element of this leadership is continuous technological innovation over time, to the extent of consolidating our reputation as OEM suppliers for 6 out of 7 of the world’s biggest carmakers. Technological know-how and original-equipment quality constitute the distinctive characteristic that we locate and offer also in products for the Aftermarket network.”
