On June 12, 2025, UFI participated in Turin as the official partner of one of the most prestigious events in the sector: the Automotive News Europe Congress.
A prestigious event organized by one of the industry’s most relevant media outlets, bringing together top executives, opinion leaders, and decision-makers in mobility, automotive, and supply chain sectors to discuss the challenges and opportunities that are reshaping the future of the industry.
A future-oriented agenda
The theme of the 2025 edition — “Driving the Future: AI-Powered Innovation, Global Trade & Tariff Dynamics, and EU Emission Regulation Challenges” — highlighted the most influential voices in the European and global landscape.
Among the leading figures was our CEO, Stefano Gava, who participated in the panel “A Bumpy Road to Electrification”, dedicated to the journey towards electrification and the transformation it entails across the entire value chain.
UFI’s contribution: thermal intelligence and multi-technological vision
In his speech, Stefano Gava shared UFI’s vision on how the evolution of mobility requires intelligent, scalable, and sustainable solutions, and how the group has not been caught unprepared, having been committed since 2007 to research and development of technologies for electric mobility. Some of the key points raised:
From thermal management to prediction: leveraging AI and Machine Learning, thermal systems become predictive, adapting in real-time to driving styles, climatic conditions, and battery status.
Award-winning and sustainable solutions: our high-pressure chiller with natural CO2-based refrigerant R744 won the Automotive News PACE Pilot Innovation to Watch Award 2025, proving that sustainability, performance, and safety can coexist.
E-fuels as a strategic complement: the group’s new company, UFI Hydrogen, is the only Italian entity part of the European IPCEI on hydrogen, developing MEA technologies – catalyst-coated membranes – for electrolyzers, fuel cells, and CO₂ conversion into climate-neutral synthetic E-fuels.
Solid-state batteries and direct cooling: we are designing adaptive thermal systems for new battery chemistries and direct cooling solutions with dielectric oil to enable ultra-fast charging and compact architectures.
Why we were there
Stefano Gava, CEO of UFI group, commented: “Being a partner of the Automotive News Europe Congress represented a concrete opportunity for UFI to contribute to the debate on mobility evolution. Not with slogans, but with real, already industrialized technologies that enable the energy transition in a credible and responsible way.”
