UFI hosts the ANFIA Motorsport 2025 Plenary

Last Tuesday, July 1st, 2025, UFI hosted the Plenary Assembly of ANFIA’s Motorsport Section at its headquarters in Nogarole Rocca. This strategic event for the Italian motorsport industry offered a valuable opportunity for discussion and networking among key component manufacturers developing cutting-edge technologies for the sector.

Founded in 1912, ANFIA – the Italian Association of the Automotive Industry – is one of the most important trade organizations in Italy’s automotive sector. Its Motorsport Coordination Unit brings together leading companies in the world of motorsport, including UFI.

During the plenary, the new Motorsport Section Coordination Committee was officially announced. The plenary provided an opportunity to share insights and strategic proposals for the development of motorsport in Italy, within an ever-evolving industrial and technological landscape. Key topics included environmental sustainability, technology transfer, and the use of advanced materials.

Chairman Girondi: “Innovation is the engine of motorsport”

UFI Chairman Giorgio Girondi highlighted “ANFIA’s crucial role as a networking facilitator for companies in the sector and as a stronger institutional voice.” He added, Innovation is the main driver of motorsport.” For UFI – a supplier of filtration systems to all Formula 1 teams and present in all other major categories – motorsport represents an advanced research field with positive spillovers across the entire automotive industry.

President Girondi also emphasized Europe’s need to “develop its own diversified industrial model for future mobility. As already being explored in Formula 1, synthetic fuels could be a viable solution to reduce environmental impact while preserving our technological edge.” Finally, he stressed the importance of a medium- to long-term vision, including collaboration with China, recognizing its advanced technological development and growing global influence.

UFI, a driver of change

The event reaffirmed UFI’s concrete commitment to actively contributing to the evolution of sustainable mobility and confirmed the Group’s strategic role in supporting the growth and competitiveness of the Italian motorsport sector in line with future challenges and opportunities.
