UFI celebrates Italian technological excellence at the Republic Day in Berlin

On June 3, 2025, the Italian Embassy in Berlin hosted the traditional reception for the Italian Republic Day. The event, which celebrates the founding values of the Republic and strengthens the ties between Italy and Germany, was attended by Italian and German authorities, institutional representatives, diplomats, business leaders, as well as members of the academic and scientific communities. Among the evening’s prominent partners, UFI stood out as an Italian excellence, recognized for its commitment to technological innovation in the aerospace and sustainable energy sectors.

The event was chaired by the Italian Ambassador to Berlin, Fabrizio Bucci. Alongside him were important German authorities, including the Undersecretary of Foreign Affairs Gunther Krichbaum, accompanied by various members of the government such as Undersecretaries Dörte Dinger (Office of the Federal President), Jörg Semmler (Federal Chancellery), and Ulrich Lange, MdB (Ministry of Transport), along with numerous parliamentarians and other federal and local authorities, underscoring the strong bond between the two countries.

This year’s Republic Day celebration was held under the theme “Italy that innovates,” showcasing Italy’s excellence and leadership across six thematic clusters: Industry 4.0, Energy, Transportation, Defense, Aerospace, and Services.

“Our participation in such a prestigious celebration represents a unique opportunity to highlight the strategic role of Italian industry in the international landscape. In particular, the presence of our Advanced Applications Division underscores our commitment to developing advanced solutions for the aerospace sector, where reliability and technological innovation are essential requirements,” commented Giorgio Girondi, Chairman of the UFI group. “At the same time, we are dedicated to energy transition through the newly established UFI Hydrogen company, which develops technologies for the production and transformation of green hydrogen, a key element for promoting zero-emission mobility and building a more sustainable and independent energy future.”

Ambassador Bucci emphasized the depth of the relationship between Italy and Germany, founded on common values, strategic cooperation, and a shared vision for Europe’s future, as well as the importance of the rich and multifaceted collaboration between the two nations in every sector.

UFI, a leader in filtration, thermal management for electric vehicles, and green hydrogen technologies, operates a commercial office in Germany and serves as one of the primary Tier 1 suppliers for German brands in the light and heavy-duty automotive sectors, confirming its role as a bridge between Italian and European industries.

During the evening, company representatives had the opportunity to engage with institutions, stakeholders, and other sponsoring companies in a setting that promotes dialogue and international cooperation. UFI’s presence was not only a mark of prestige but also a clear message: Italian industry is ready to lead innovation in the key sectors of the future.

Alongside UFI, other prominent Italian companies were present, sharing the exhibition space and the stage of economic diplomacy: ENIT, Salcef, Snam, Berlin Chemie, Elettronica, Enel, Feralpi, FS/Netinera, Leonardo Italia, Leonardo Germany, Prysmian, Thales Alenia Space, OHB, Luther Rechtsanwälte, Pirelli, Ita Airways, Generali, Campari, Valdo Spumanti, Vini Grandi Berlino, Acqua San Benedetto, Illy Caffè, Mafalda Distilleria, Montelvini, Pastificio de Cecco, Sagrantino, Il Giradischi Pizzeria, Caffè e Gelato Berlin, Caserificio San Salvatore, Parmigiano Reggiano Consortium, Grana Padano Consortium, Parma Ham Consortium, Mortadella Consortium, Mozzarella di Bufala Campana Consortium, Sironi, Dolci e Salati Spandau, Prometeo, Salumi Subissati, Modi Bistro, IVV, and Rock-it.
