The young British driver, supported by UFI Filters, took the title of Vice Champion in the prestigious Porsche Mobil 1 Supercup, which is run concurrently with the Formula 1 Grand Prix <\/strong><\/h2>\n

It has been a truly brilliant season this year for Harry King. <\/strong>The British driver who UFI Filters <\/strong>supports in the Porsche Mobil 1 Supercup <\/strong>and Porsche Sixt Carrera Cup Deutschland<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

In the prestigious Porsche Mobil 1 Supercup<\/strong>, the young talent 23 years old) fought until the last few races, battling for the lead, winning the Hungaroring round and achieving a series of excellent placings, including three second places and two third places ending with a podium in the last round at the Italian Grand Prix in Monza. A sequence of podiums that, together with the other points won, allowed him to finish as the Vice Champion.<\/p>\n

Harry King <\/strong>\u00a0is achieving excellent results in the Porsche Sixt Carrera Cup Deutschland<\/strong>, winning the opening two races, both held at Imola and taking the top step of the podium in N\u00fcrburgring A series of placings enabled him to enter \u00a0the last races of the season, scheduled for late September and October, and remain in contention for the Championship title.<\/p>\n

UFI <\/strong>congratulates Harry King <\/strong>on a brilliant and hotly contested racing season.<\/p>\n

A long-standing relationship<\/strong><\/h2>\n

UFI <\/strong>has a long tradition in motorsport. In fact, as early as the late 1970s, Ferrari <\/strong>used UFI filters in Formula 1, which achieved their first success at the 1978 British Grand Prix with the Rossa driven by Carlos Reutemann.<\/p>\n

Since then, UFI has always been present in Formula 1 and today supplies nine of the ten teams participating in Grand Prix races with its filter systems, as well as playing a leading role in many other prestigious championships.<\/p>\n

UFI <\/strong>is, however, also attentive to young motorsport talent and already in 2023 decided to support the promising British driver Harry King <\/strong>in the Porsche one-make championships.<\/p>\n

The choice fell on Harry <\/strong>because of his brilliant career. After his beginnings in karting, which saw him quickly establish himself in the National Open and Cadet <\/strong>categories, King emerged in the one-make championships reserved for the Ginetta<\/strong>, a high-performance British coup\u00e9 produced in small series. With these cars, King won his first title in the 2019 GT4 Series<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Subsequently, King became involved in the Porsche championships, which saw him emerge rapidly. In 2020, he won the Porsche Carrera Cup Great Britain<\/strong>, which confirmed him as one of the up-and-coming talents of cross-Channel motorsport. This earned him the title of Driver of the Year \u00a0<\/strong>by the prestigious British magazine Autosport.<\/p>\n

In 2022, the young British driver won the \u00a0Porsche Carrera Cup Benelux<\/strong>, a success that allowed him to move up the following year to the Porsche Mobil 1 Supercup<\/strong>, in which he finished immediately in third place. The result earned him the accolade of British Racing Drivers Club Golden Star<\/strong>, which was awarded to none other than Sir Lewis Hamilton<\/strong>, seven-time Formula 1 <\/strong>World Champion.<\/p>\n

And it is precisely because of these results that UFI <\/strong>wanted to confirm its partnership with Harry King in 2024, supporting its 911 GT3 Cup <\/strong>in both the Porsche Carrera Cup Deutschland<\/strong>, which is contested on circuits in Germany, Italy, Austria and the Netherlands, and the Porsche Mobil 1 Supercup<\/strong>, whose races are held in conjunction with the European Formula 1 <\/strong>Grand Prix.<\/p>\n

Harry takes to the track with the support of UFI <\/strong>and in the (unmistakably pink) colours of the Austrian BWT Lechner Racing <\/strong>team, which has a long tradition: founded in 1975, it won the Team, Driver and Rookie titles of the Porsche Mobil 1 Supercup 2022.<\/p>\n

A challenging championship<\/strong><\/h2>\n

The Porsche Mobil 1 Supercup <\/strong>is one of the most prestigious one-make championships because it is the only one that is run concurrently with the Formula 1 Grand Prix<\/strong>, in front of a big crowd.<\/p>\n

The season generally comprises eight races, contested on the most difficult circuits such as Imola, Monte Carlo, Silverstone, Spa-Francorchamps, Zandvoort and Monza.<\/p>\n

It is a real spectacle to see some thirty Porsche 911s fighting it out, \u00a0driven by young talents like Harry King.<\/p>\n

A championship such as this puts all participants on an equal footing, because the cars used have identical characteristics and enjoy the same level of preparation: it is therefore the skills behind the wheel of the most qualified drivers that stand out.<\/p>\n

The most skilful use this championship as a true springboard: exemplary is the case of the young New Zealander Earl Bamber<\/strong>, who, after establishing himself in the series, was promoted to Porsche’s LMP <\/strong>programme, thanks to which he won the prestigious Le Mans 24 Hours <\/strong>in 2015 at the wheel of a 919 Hybrid<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

The cars used in the Porsche Mobil 1 Supercup championship are 911 GT3 Cups<\/strong>, based on the Porsche 911 series 992 <\/strong>road cars. The engine is the classic six-cylinder boxer with a displacement of 4 litres and an output of 510 hp.<\/p>\n

Compared to the production version, the track modifications concern details such as the intake manifold, the electronic gearbox management, the power steering, made even faster and more direct, the digital instrumentation and the suspension. The aerodynamics are also revised, with the adoption of a larger rear wing, which generates more vertical load on the rear axle.<\/p>\n

In addition to the Porsche Mobil 1 Supercup<\/strong>, these cars are used in national one-make championships, which are contested in Europe, Asia and North America.<\/p>\n

Since 1990, the year of the first Porsche Supercup, the Stuttgart-based company has produced more than 4,250 911s for use in this type of competition.[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_column][\/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column]\n\t\t\t\t\t\n\t\t\t\t\t
