[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]UFI Filters, a leader in filtration and thermal management solutions as well as technologies for the development of hydrogen mobility, will debut in the 2024 Goodyear FIA European Truck Racing Championship<\/strong> (ETRC) together with British driver John Newell of the NWT Motorsport Team<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

John Newell, 52, started racing very young, taking over 40 podiums across his career. After a short break he was back on track in 2018, taking 3rd<\/sup> place overall in the British Truck Racing Championship the following year. Newell is committed not only to racing but also to the family business: he is an Engineer and Commercial Director of Newell & Wright Transport and RTN Clayton Vallely, specialising in road and rail container haulage services in the UK and based in Barnsley, South Yorkshire.<\/p>\n

Newell is also a family man who fully reflects UFI Group\u2019s core values of passion, excellence and integrity. He can often be found working on his MAN TGS truck, <\/strong>aka Lagertha<\/strong>, which was fitted with a brilliant D26 1200BHP engine, chassis and axles, made from scratch, with the help and expertise of Stefan Honens Racing Services<\/strong> and MAN.<\/p>\n

The European Truck Racing Championship<\/strong> (ETRC) is one of the most exciting competitions in the world of motor racing, where giant racing trucks compete on breathtaking circuits across Europe. The ETRC is run by the F\u00e9d\u00e9ration Internationale de l’Automobile (FIA) and comprises a series of races that take place throughout the season on renowned European circuits, such as N\u00fcrburgring in Germany, Le Mans Bugatti Circuit in France and Jarama Circuit in Spain. The debut this year will be in Italy<\/strong>, at the Misano<\/strong> circuit on 25-26 May.<\/p>\n

Since its first events in the 1980s, the ETRC has attracted the attention of motoring enthusiasts around the world, thanks to its unique combination of power, speed and driving skills. Today, the European Truck Racing Championship continues to thrive as one of the most spectacular events on the motor racing calendar, attracting an average of 420,000 spectators each season and capturing the imagination of millions through television broadcasts and online streaming.
