UFI’s technological innovations allow the temperatures of batteries to be kept within an optimal operating range, safeguarding their functionality and extending their life.
The new Porsche Cayenne E-Hybrid is equipped with a UFI heat exchanger for heating the battery electrolyte when cold starting. The UFI Group product, made of aluminium alloys that ensure a product which is robust but extremely light at the same time, takes the energy required from the water in the combustion engine cooling system, which heats more quickly than that in the battery by nature.
The optimal operating temperature range for the batteries of hybrid and electric cars is between 15 °C and 35 °C. Below this, the capacity of batteries to deliver electricity reduces, thus permanently reducing their power.
BATTERY COOLER is the system that UFI Filters has developed for cooling batteries, keeping their operating temperature under control. Above 35 °C, batteries tend to degrade, with the risk of irreversible damage or even explosion.
Battery cooler is one of the UFI Group’s thermal management systems that can ensure optimal operation in the most varied of heat conditions, avoiding dangerous overheating of the battery itself.
